Vancouver police say woman was killed after being run over by her own vehicle
VANCOUVER – Police in Vancouver say they’re investigating what appears to be a tragic death of a 52-year-old woman involving her own vehicle.
Police were called out Friday afternoon when neighbours found a woman trapped under her car in a city lane.
While in the early stages of the investigation, police say it appears the woman was either loading or unloading her two dogs and some cargo in the back hatch.
They say they believe the car rolled down the sloped driveway, trapping the woman under the vehicle.
Neighbours noticed the vehicle in the middle of the lane with the dogs inside and called 911 once they saw the woman under the car.
Police, ambulance and fire officials all attended, but the woman couldn’t be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
