CHARLESTON, S.C. – Visitors to Charleston’s Magnolia Cemetery will soon have the option of taking a walking tour.
The Post and Courier reports that the trust which oversees the cemetery has had a policy against allowing commercial tours. But they recently moved to lift that ban for John LaVerne’s Bulldog Tours.
The company will start offering 90-minute evening tours of the cemetery starting April 5.
A portion of the profits will go back to the cemetery to help preserve and maintain the location.
LaVerne does the same with money from ticket sales to other locations where the company has tours including the Old City Jail and the Old Exchange.
