IN TWEETS: It’s October already
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Autumn may have officially arrived with the fall equinox Sept. 22, but for many, it’s the first day of October that really feels like the start of a new season.
Oct. 1 delivered sunny skies across the valley and warm enough temperatures to still get away with shorts and a T-shirt. But on Twitter, residents were hailing the perks of fall—pumpkin spice everything, the crisp and colourful outdoors, and apparently, the joy the of jumping in pine needles. Oct. 1 fell on Wine Wednesday this year (in classic Okanagan style) and marked the kick off of the Fall Wine Festival.
And there’s much more to look forward to in October—Thanksgiving on Oct. 13, Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31, and of course Oktoberfest.
What does fall mean to you? Here’s what residents were tweeting on Oct. 1.
