Waterbomber fighting forest fires in Labrador goes down, pilots safe: official

WABUSH, N.L. – A fire and emergencies spokesman in Newfoundland and Labrador says a waterbomber fighting forest fires in western Labrador has gone down in a lake near the community of Wabush.

Bradley Power of Fire and Emergency Services had few other details, but says the pilot and co-pilot are believed to be safe.

Crews have been battling forest fires in the area that broke out over a week ago.
