Risk of frost in the forecast
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Cover your fragile plants and get your ice scrapers ready, fall is officially here and with that comes a risk of frost.
With highs of 13-15 Celsius Thursday and temperatures expected to dip as low as 2 C overnight at airports throughout the region Environment Canada is calling for a risk of frost tonight.
Friday brings a 30-40 per cent chance of showers for much of the region with highs of only 12 C, though Penticton can expect a mix of sun and cloud with highs of 17 C Friday. Overnight temperatures will only drop to 8 C Friday though and the weekend will be graced with a mix of sun and cloud with highs of 20 C, a few degrees above seasonal normals.
Overall the weekend should bring a mix of sun and cloud and warm temperatures, making it a perfect time to get some yard work done or to hit up a local pumpkin patch.
Temperatures are expected to remain slightly above normal heading into next week as well, though there is a 30 per cent chance of showers in the Okanagan Monday.
