LANGLEY, B.C. – A South Okanagan man with dual Canadian-U.S. citizenship is facing multiple firearms charges following an investigation into the smuggling of guns from Washington state into British Columbia.

Police say a tip led investigators to 30-year-old Tyler Cuff, who is believed to have used his dual-citizenship status to buy firearms at various gun shows.

Sgt. Lindsey Houghton of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says Cuff, who is from Osoyoos, apparently smuggled the guns across the border into Canada.

Houghton says investigators believe Cuff was allegedly selling mostly handguns to gang-related groups in both the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.

Cuff was arrested last week in Langley after allegedly selling a semi-automatic assault rife and several steroid kits to an undercover officer.

Houghton says police are now looking into whether the guns are connected to other investigations, as well as how many firearms may have been brought into Canada and sold.
