
Columbus Blue Jackets sign forward Nathan Horton to seven-year contract
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed free-agent forward Nathan Horton to a seven-year deal worth US$37.1 million.
The 28-year-old right-winger will count $5.3 million against the Blue Jackets’ salary cap. He will receive $30 million in the first five yeras of the deal.
Horton spent the last three seasons with the Bruins. He won a Stanley Cup in 2011 and helped Boston reach the Cup final again last month.
Horton has 198 goals and 204 assists in 501 games with Florida and Boston.
His best offensive years were in 2006-07 and 2007-08, when he had back-to-back 62-point seasons with the Panthers.
