BENNINGTON, Vt. – A Vermont hospital will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the day it first began taking in patients with an old-time carnival.
Southwestern Vermont Health Care in Bennington says it will be hosting the community day of food and games on June 10, to celebrate its opening that day in 1918. The Bennington Banner reports the festivities will be held on the hospital campus and will feature a barbecue, cake and classic fair treats.
The day will also feature the Cancer Center Community Crusaders, who have raised over $206,000 for cancer patients since 2014.
The event is fully tented and all activities will take place rain or shine. All activities are free.
