Ontario family $50-million richer after winning Lotto Max jackpot

TORONTO – A family of six from northeast of Toronto has picked up a cheque for $50-million after winning Friday night’s Lotto Max draw.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. says Peterborough, Ont., resident Lynda Powell was surprised to see all the zeros on the winning ticket when she scanned it at a grocery store.

It says Powell, her husband John and their four adult children have been testing their luck with the lottery since 2009.

The lottery agency says the family is planning a trip to Disneyland and then Wales.

Linda Powell also wants a gold Cadillac.

Most of the family members plan to keep their jobs at least for now.
