Police probing fatal house fire in Coquitlam that has killed two people

COQUITLAM, B.C. – Two people have been found dead inside a burning home in Coquitlam, B.C.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 1100 block of Cottonwood Avenue, near Como Lake Park, at about midnight.

Coquitlam RCMP Staff Sgt. Rob Lemon says a section of the home was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived, and the bodies were found inside the house.

He says the identities of the victims are still being determined.

How they died and what caused the fire are still under investigation.

Neighbours report hearing a scream and bang before the flames broke out. (CKNW)
