Kamloops resiliency centre opening to help wildfire evacuees

KAMLOOPS – A resiliency centre is set to open today in Kamloops to help provide wildfire evacuees with the resources they need.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District says in a news release that starting at noon today, July 13, the resiliency centre will be up and running at the City of Kamloops Soccer Central Lounge and meeting room, 1550 Island Parkway on McArthur Island. It will be open until 4 p.m.

Starting tomorrow, the centre will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Resources will be provided to evacuees, including insurance advice from the Insurance Bureau of Canada and insurers, the District says.

A number of non-government agencies will also be there to provide services, along with Service Canada.
