Veteran slotback Geroy Simon to miss third straight start with leg injury
TORONTO – Geroy Simon’s Saskatchewan Roughriders debut is on hold for another week.
Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin said Wednesday the veteran slotback won’t play in the club’s game Thursday night against the Toronto Argonauts.
The Roughriders acquired Simon in an off-season trade with the B.C. Lions but he has yet to play for his new team due to a lower-body injury.
The 37-year-old Simon is the CFL’s all-time receiving yards leader (15,787) and needs 29 catches to break Ben Cahoon’s league record of 1,017.
Thursday’s game will be a homecoming for Roughriders defensive end Ricky Foley, a native of Courtice, Ont., who helped Toronto win the Grey Cup last year.
