BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Authorities say a 4-year-old boy is in stable condition after being wounded in a shooting that left three men dead at an apartment complex in central Illinois.
Police in Bloomington haven’t yet offered a potential motive for the Monday afternoon attack and no arrests have been made.
The wounded boy was airlifted to a hospital in Peoria, where he was initially reported in critical condition. Bloomington police spokesman Eilais Mendiola says the boy’s family told police he was in stable condition Tuesday.
The McLean County coroner identified those killed as 22-year-olds Corey Jackson and Nathaniel Pena and 33-year-old Juan Perez-Macedo. All are from Bloomington. Mendiola says they all died from gunshot wounds.
