Praise for these Penticton businesses that allow dogs inside during summer

PENTICTON – As summer bakes on, some Penticton and area businesses are adding their names to a growing list of Okanagan stores that will let you bring your dog inside when it’s hot.

The list was started by Kelowna SPCA staff last week and within a few days readers added dozens of new names.

Now it’s the South Okanagan's turn.

SPCA branch manager Sean Hogan says inside is the safest place for an animal when it’s hot, but praise is owed to all Okanagan businesses who let dogs cool off inside when it's just not possible to leave them home.

These are some of the businesses around Penticton that allow dogs inside during the summer:

• Staples
• The Brick
• Canadian Tire
• Home Hardware
• Rona
• Winners
• Art Knapp Plantland

The list is just a start.

"We're hoping the public can help us out a bit too," Hogan says.
