Man dies in crash on Peachland forest service road
PEACHLAND – Despite the efforts of Good Samaritans and emergency workers, a 53-year-old man has died after crashing into a tree on a forest service road near Peachland.
Police were called to a single vehicle accident on Brenda Mines forest service road yesterday, July 24, at 1:05 p.m, according to an RCMP release.
The 911 call came from Good Samaritans who stopped at the scene, pulled the man from the vehicle and started CPR, police say.
B.C. Ambulance workers called for an air ambulance and were trying to save the man's life when RCMP arrived.
“Sadly, despite the tireless efforts of the group of Good Samaritans and both the ground and airborne medical crews, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Cpl. O’Donaghey says in the release.
Police say speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Officers are looking for the man's next of kin.
