Animals escape barn fire in Chase

CHASE – Fire crews were able to extinguish a barn fire in Chase, while the animals escaped through a door.

Police received a report of a structure fire at a home in the 5000 block of Kamloops Shuswap Road in Chase at 3:50 a.m. July 22, according to an RCMP media release.

The barn was on fire when crews arrived. Animals inside the barn were able to escape through an open door.

Chase RCMP says the fire was out of the fire protection area, but members of the B.C. Wildfire Service attended to monitor the blaze.

The fire is not considered suspicious and it didn't spread beyond the barn.
