Body found in Okanagan Lake; West Kelowna RCMP investigating

WEST KELOWNA – The body of a male was found floating in Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna this morning.

RCMP say they were called to the Casa Loma Road area in Lakeview Heights just before 8:30 a.m. today, July 16.

The investigation into the death of the male is in its early stages, according to an RCMP media release.

"As such, the deceased has not yet been positively identified," Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says in the release. "The support of the local fire department and a trained dive team will likely be required for the safe recovery of the man's body."

RCMP officers are currently on the scene and will be working with the B.C. Coroners Service as the investigation continues.
