KAMLOOPS – The Martin Mountain fire near Monte Lake broke out last evening, July 26, and rapidly spread to 100 hectares in size.
The fire has forced tactical evacuations and several structures are threatened.
A local state of emergency was issued by the Thompson Nicola Regional District. Highway 97 is closed as a result of the fire.
The cause of this blaze is unknown.
