St. Louis County police are searching for the person who fatally shot a 15-year-old boy who’s the latest of more than a dozen child victims killed in area gun violence this year.
Officers were called just after 5:30 a.m. Friday to a home in north St. Louis County. Police spokesman Benjamin Granda says someone fired into the house, striking Antione Brown Jr.
Granda says it does “not appear to be a random act.”
The city of St. Louis has seen 11 child homicides this year, and two other child deaths are being investigated as “suspicious.” St. Louis County has reported three child homicides in 2019. Several other children have died in accidental shootings.
Missouri Republican Gov. Mike Parson is sending state troopers to help fight violent crime.
