WOODFORD, Vt. – A non-profit group is looking to purchase a ski facility in Vermont in order to save it for generations to come.
The Bennington Banner reports a group called the Prospect Mountain Association is working to purchase the Prospect Mountain Nordic Ski Center in Woodford from Steve Whitham and Andrea Amodeo. Members hope to purchase the property by May. Whitham says he plans to oversee maintenance at the centre.
The centre features 17.9 miles of trails.
Prospect Mountain Association members say the centre is a valuable community resource. Local high schools and colleges train at the centre. Members also hope to work with youth skiing organizations.
