STANDOFF, Alta. – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he will remember former Alberta premier and former Conservative MP Jim Prentice as a man of deep convictions.
Trudeau says he was sad to learn Prentice died Thursday night in a plane crash north of Kelowna, B.C.
Three other people on the plane were also killed.
Trudeau told reporters during a stop in Standoff, Alta., today that he and Prentice didn’t always share the same views.
But he says Prentice was always incredibly kind and respectful, and that he will miss him.
Trudeau says Prentice’s legacy will live on in the work he did for Canadians, particularly his role in finalizing the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.
