Justin Goltz to take over as Bombers starting quarterback against Stampeders
WINNIPEG – Justin Goltz will make his first CFL start Friday night when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Calgary Stampeders.
The Bombers made the announcement Wednesday.
Goltz, 25, replaces starter Buck Pierce, who suffered an abdominal injury in last week’s 35-19 home loss to the Toronto Argonauts.
Goltz, in his fourth CFL season, took over for Pierce in the second half against Toronto, completing 13-of-15 passes for 170 yards.
