Nurse details anesthesia treatments on Jackson, notes high tolerance for meds
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A medical practitioner who administered anesthesia to Michael Jackson over a 10-year period says the entertainer had a high tolerance for medications.
David Fournier, a nurse anesthetist, testified on Thursday that he was no longer asked to work with Jackson after refusing to participate in a medical procedure in 2003.
Fournier says Jackson was acting goofy and was slow to respond to standard questions before a scheduled cosmetic surgery procedure.
It was cancelled after Fournier refused to administer anesthesia.
Fournier is testifying as a defence witness in a negligence case filed by Jackson’s mother against AEG Live LLC, the promoter of Jackson’s comeback shows.
The company denies it is liable for Jackson’s death.
