‘Nightmare’ returns to Kelowna

KELOWNA – The Central Okanagan is preparing for another nightmare. 

Sepia Firms used the Okanagan as backdrop to shoot the TV movies A Mother's Nightmare and A Sister's Nightmare and now there series continues with A Daughter's Nightmare filming in Kelowna this month, says Okanagan Film Commissioner Jon Summerland. It's the second time this year and third time in two years.

"We continue to be reinforced that we are doing things right when production companies are returning with multiple productions," Summerland says.

While the cast hasn't been announced, there's likely no A-listers like George Clooney in this production, though. Pre-production on A Daughter's Nightmare is set to start in early September and will shoot in and around Kelowna through October.

A Daughter's Nightmare will premiere on Lifetime, Movie Central and The Movie Network in early 2014. A Sister’s Nightmare, shot in the Okanagan, and starring Kelly Rutherford of Gossip Girl and Natasha Henstridge of Species, and will premiere in Canada on Sept. 14, 2013 on Movie Central at 9 pm PST and TMN at 9 pm EST.

The film will be directed by Emmy Award winning director Vic Sarin, a celebrated Canadian filmmaker, director, cinematographer, writer, and producer (Partition, A Shine of Rainbows, Cold Comfort, Margaret’s Museum, Whale Music, Bye Bye Blues).

It appears Kelowna could be in for the long haul as well because the "Nightmare" franchise will continue with 3 new movies anticipated for 2014 including A Wife's Nightmare, A Roommate's Nightmare and A Good Little Nightmare.
