Belgium’s Kompany to work as ESPN studio analyst for Euros

PARIS – Injured Belgium captain Vincent Kompany will work as a studio analyst for ESPN during the European Championship.

The Manchester City defender is missing the tournament because of a leg injury. He is also working for the BBC during this summer’s event in France, which starts Friday.

ESPN said Tuesday that Kompany joins a group of studio analysts that includes former players Frank Leboeuf of France, Michael Ballack of Germany, Steve McManaman of England, Craig Burley of Scotland, Santiago Solari of Argentina, and Abby Wambach, Kasey Keller and Taylor Twellman of the U.S.
