
Elephant Hill fire evacuees invited to information meeting
KAMLOOPS – Representatives from several government agencies will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to evacuees at the Sagebrush Theatre in Kamloops at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
The public meeting is for residents impacted by the Elephant Hill fire from the communities of Loon Lake, Clinton, 70 Mile, South Green Lake, as well as the surrounding rural areas.
Transportation to the Sagebrush Theatre will be provided for evacuees with pick up at the Sandman Centre at 4:15 p.m. There will be street parking available for those driving themselves.
The representatives on hand will be from the B.C. Wildfire Management Branch, the RCMP, the Thompson Nicola Regional District, Emergency Management B.C., and the Red Cross.
The meeting will also be live streamed through Facebook and can be viewed on the TNRD Facebook page.
