Passengers hurt as charter bus with Alberta group flips on Vancouver Island

TAHSIS, B.C. – Police say several people were injured when a charter bus flipped onto its side near Tahsis, B.C., on northwestern Vancouver Island.

RCMP received a report last night that the bus had crashed on a forest service road near the Leiner Bridge.

There were 21 passengers from Alberta on board, along with the driver.

Mounties say none of the people had life-threatening injuries.

Many of those hurt were treated at the local Tahsis medical clinic, but some were transported to Campbell River Hospital for further medical care.

Police say the bridge was under construction at the time of the crash, but they are not sure what caused the accident.
