
VIDEO: Olynyk of Kamloops is featured by his new NBA team
KAMLOOPS – The Miami Heat have released two videos highlighting Kamloops born player Kelly Olynyk, 26, and his annual basketball camp the Olynyk Klynyk.
In the videos, filmed in Kamloops, Olynyk talks about life in the Tournament Capital and growing up in a basketball family, and we get to hear from some of the young players who attended his camp this summer.
After graduating from South Kamloops Secondary in 2009 Olynyk attended Gonzaga University and played four seasons before being drafted 13th overall in the 2013 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics. He played four seasons in Boston averaging 9.5 points a game before signing a four-year, $50 million contract with Miami on July 7.
