Family members of teens killed in Saskatchewan traffic accident in disbelief

LASHBURN, Sask. – The parents of one of six teens killed in a car crash in Saskatchewan say they are devastated and can’t believe he’s gone.

Tarren Attfield, who was 15, was packed into a car with friends when it apparently collided with a semi tanker truck early Saturday morning south of Lloydminster.

Cherie Attfield says her son had been at another friend’s house in the city and was getting a ride home to nearby Lashburn when the crash happened.

Mounties were initially called to a semi rollover and later found the small car completely submerged in a slough near the rural intersection.

One boy had managed to free himself from the car but later died in hospital.

Dalbert Attfield says he didn’t really believe his son had been in the car until he went to identify his body in the morgue and tenderly kissed him goodbye.
