Montreal police officer injured in standoff with 70-year-old man

MONTREAL – Montreal police say an officer may have been shot.

The SWAT team member was either struck by a bullet — or slammed into an object — during a standoff that is still going on.

The injury is classified as minor and is not considered life-threatening. A statement from police describes it as a “bruise” on the foot.

Police say the standoff began when a 70-year-old man barricaded himself in his residence.
