RCMP say Elephant Hill fire wasn’t caused by train activity

ASHCROFT – Police and B.C. Wildfire have ruled out train rail line activities as a possible cause of the Elephant Hill Wildfire.

B.C. RCMP says in a news release that they can now rule out train traffic and rail maintenance as possible causes of the fire.

The Elephant Hill wildfire began south of Ashcroft on July 6 and as of today, Aug. 10, is more than 117,000 hectares and has forced evacuations.

Anyone with information on the Elephant Hill wildfire is asked to call the RCMP tip line at 1-855-685-8788.
