Toronto Blue Jays says they talked trade but nothing made sense for the ball club

TORONTO – The Blue Jays stayed on the sidelines during trade deadline day.

Toronto GM Alex Anthopoulos says while says his team needs to improve, there was nothing that made sense.

The Jays executive said he wasn’t about to make a deal just to make a deal.

Anthopoulos said there was traction on two possible trades over the last couple of weeks but nothing materialized.

The revamped Jays roster has been a disappointment this season, with a 49-57 record going into play Wednesday.
