Texas executes killer convicted in 1998 shooting deaths of 2 truckers in Dallas

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A former financial analyst with a history of disruptive behaviour has been executed for the shooting deaths of two truckers in the Dallas area 15 years ago.

Douglas Feldman received lethal injection Wednesday in Huntsville for gunning down 36-year-old Robert Everett of Missouri, and 62-year-old Nicholas Valesquez, of the Dallas suburb of Irving.

Feldman was riding his motorcycle on an August night in 1998 and said Everett cut him off on a Dallas County freeway. So he took out his pistol, pulled up alongside the truck and shot him. Feldman testified at his trial he was still angry about 45 minutes later when he spotted Valesquez, a gasoline tanker driver filling a Dallas service station, and shot him too.

While in prison, he amassed 136 disciplinary cases.
