KAMLOOPS – A woman may have escaped an assault this afternoon by pulling out her cell phone and letting a potential attacker know she was dialing 911.
Kamloops RCMP say the woman, 52, was followed into a public washroom at Riverside Park at about 3:20 p.m. today by a man in his 50's who then made inappropriate comments to her. When she pulled out her cell phone and told him she was dialing 911, the man left. Though the woman wasn't physically injured, she told police she believed she might have been assaulted had she not taken the actions she did.
The man is described as in his 50's, Caucasian, 5'7", medium build, long grey hair in small braids pulled back into a ponytail. He was wearing blue jeans, a light coloured shirt and a denim jacket.
Anyone with information about the man or this incident can call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
