Pickup airborne during crash on Rogers Way in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – The driver of a pickup involved in a single vehicle crash on Highway 5A and Rogers Way in Kamloops was rushed to hospital with a head injury this afternoon.

RCMP say at about 12:15 p.m. today, Aug. 17, the driver of a pickup truck accelerated out of the PetroCan Station, went through the ditch and some trees, and became airborne before coming to rest on the northbound lane of Highway 5A. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, suffered a head injury and was sent to Royal Inland Hospital, according to an RCMP media release.

"At this time it is unknown what caused the accident," Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release. "The investigation is ongoing."
