Baby beaver being flown from Manitoba to Ontario for rehabilitation
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – An orphaned baby beaver is going on a flight from Manitoba to its new home in Ontario today.
An air charter service will be flying the beaver cub from Winnipeg to Peterborough, Ont., so the animal can be rehabilitated.
The Aspen Valley Rehabilitation Sanctuary says the young beaver is being brought to Ontario so it can benefit from the company of other baby beavers.
The sanctuary currently houses seven other baby beavers.
The plan is to release the new beaver back into the wild in Manitoba in two years.
The baby beaver’s trip is being paid for by a donation from President Air Charter, the Ontario-based company which is transporting the animal to its new home.
