ZIONSVILLE, Pa. – Police are investigating anti-Republican graffiti spray-painted on the homes of neighbours of GOP U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.
The graffiti sprayed late Saturday or early Sunday says, “Nazi, Slavers, Rapists, Cross-Worshippers== GOP.” Another message says, “Look Out Toomey and Your Neo Nazi Republicans,” and a third says hashtag “Americans Against the Republican Party.”
Toomey says he’s “sickened by this disgusting, politically inspired hatred.” Toomey’s Democratic opponent, Katie McGinty, issued a statement calling the vandalism “unacceptable” and says she hopes police “hold the people accountable for it responsible.”
Toomey was asked about the graffiti after Monday night’s televised debate with McGinty and says he was “extremely distressed and disappointed that our neighbours and friends would be subjected to something like that.”
Toomey lives in Upper Milford Township, near Philadelphia.
