House fire on Groves Avenue in Kelowna

KELOWNA – Fire crews responded to a structure fire at a home on Groves Avenue Thursday afternoon.

At roughly 2:39 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 24, firefighters quickly put out the blaze in the 400 block of Groves Avenue, according to a Kelowna Fire Department media release.

Platoon Capt. Tim Light says no one was home at the time, and three people and one cat are now in the care of emergency social services.

The fire was accidental and electrical in nature, he says.
