Kamloops nature parks reopened to the public

KAMLOOPS – As the weather begins to cool down, the City of Kamloops and Kamloops Fire Rescue have decided to open all of the nature parks.

Kamloops Fire Rescue chief Mike Adams says in a news release the parks reopened to the public at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 25.

"We want to remind residents to continue to be fire safe and remain vigilant in reporting fires," Adams says in the release. "We're thankful to residents for their support and understanding throughout the summer. We all play a role in keeping our community safe."

Crews are currently removing park closure signs, and residents will be able to visit the parks again at any point today, he says.

Adams says smoking is always banned in city parks, and smokers should be extremely cautious with cigarettes in any area.
