VANCOUVER – A 20-year-old man is dead after falling from a railing at a SkyTrain station in Vancouver.
Transit police say Conner Richey of Roberts Creek, B.C, had attended a Vancouver Whitecaps soccer match on Saturday evening, and was returning with his girlfriend.
A news release says Richey jumped on a railing inside the city’s Commercial Drive SkyTrain station and sat on it, facing the platform.
But he lost his balance and fell almost 10 metres to the sidewalk below.
Police say Richey was transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries on Sunday afternoon.
Transit police and the B.C. Corners Service are investigating, though they say foul play is not suspected.
