Eskimos say star linebacker Sherritt out indefinitely after thumb surgery
EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos have lost all-star linebacker JC Sherritt to injury.
The CFL club announced Tuesday that Sherritt, the CFL’s outstanding defensive player last season, recently underwent successful thumb surgery and will be out indefinitely.
The Eskimos said Sherritt sustained the injury in their 30-29 home loss to Hamilton on Aug. 2.
Edmonton is in Toronto on Sunday night to face the defending Grey Cup-champion Argonauts.
Edmonton also announced it has signed receivers Dominique Edison and Jamar Howard and offensive lineman Miles Mason to the practice roster.
