Youth pop-up gallery

Your voices need to be heard and your vision needs to be seen. You deserve to be inspired, empowered, connected, respected and nurtured. Your creativity needs to be honoured. This Youth Pop Up Gallery and Juice Bar will provide a safe place during the festival for your city's youth to gather, learn, share and grow, meet and be mentored by our Art Community. We want to instil a sense of pride in your hearts and really show that you are important and vital members of our city.

The Youth Pop-Up Gallery will be located at 456 Main Street, and will feature the work of participating children and youth through age 24. The exhibition will centre on the themes of unity, diversity and care for our community and each other. The requirements for art submissions are as follows:

  • OPEN TO ALL YOUTH THROUGH AGE 24
  • 1 LETTER SIZE (8.5 X 11) PORTRAIT ART WORK PER STUDENT. ALL MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED I.E.: PAPER, CANVAS, WOOD BUT SIZE MAY NOT BE ALTERED. EACH PIECE TO BE LABELLED ON THE BACK WITH ARTIST NAME, AGE, SCHOOL AND TITLE OF WORK.

WORKSHOP EVENT

Wednesday, August 30th from 4pm-6pm at Felts Studio (221 Main St, Penticton)

Join the Penticton Arts Council and community partners for an evening full of creativity.

Youth are encouraged to bring their own art supplies to the workshop, but if you don't have any – no worries! There will be some material available to use!

Taylor Rae


Before university, Taylor spent a year abroad living in Thailand which encouraged her to finish her degree studying in Turkey, both experiences have made her an avid traveller. Taylor graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. Although born on the coast, Taylor has lived the majority of her life in Kamloops and enjoys what the region has to offer. In her spare time, you can find Taylor volunteering in the community or out on an adventure with her friends and her dogs.
