PITTSFORD, NEW YORK, – Canadian linebacker Jamaal Westerman signed with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday.

Westerman, who grew up in Brampton, Ont., has appeared in 45 career NFL games — three starts — with the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts.

Westerman, 28, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets in 2009 following his college career at Rutgers. He spent three years with the Jets (2009-11) before playing for Arizona and Indianapolis in 2012.

The six-foot-three, 255-pound Westerman has registered 53 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his NFL career. His younger brother, Jabar, is a defensive lineman with the CFL’s B.C. Lions.
