The Gibson Brothers, Balsam Range lead International Bluegrass Awards nominations

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Gibson Brothers and Balsam Range are the top nominees for next month’s International Bluegrass Music Awards.

The Gibson Brothers are up for eight awards, including entertainer of the year, an award the group one last year. Balsam Range, Blue Highway, Dailey & Vincent and The Del McCoury Band round out the nominations for entertainer of the year.

The Gibson Brothers are also nominated for best vocal group, album and song of the year.

Balsam Range is up for seven awards. Three other groups, including Alison Krauss & Union Station, are nominated in six categories for the Sept. 26 awards in Raleigh, N.C.

The Steep Canyon Rangers will host the show. Tony Rice and Paul Warren will be inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
