Silver Wheaton Q2 profit plunges 50% amid falling revenue; dividend reduced

VANCOUVER – Silver Wheaton Corp. (TSX:SLW) saw its net earnings cut in half in the second quarter despite record attributable silver production of 8.6 million ounces. The Vancouver-based concern also announced a reduction in its quarterly dividend to 10 cents US per share from 12 cents as profits fell to US$71.1 million from US$141.4 million in the same year-earlier period.
