Regina woman gets hug, kiss, and autograph on her arm from Paul McCartney

REGINA – A fan at Paul McCartney’s Regina show got the thrill of a lifetime when the Beatle called her onstage.

But it got even better for Chelsi Gobeil on Wednesday night — Sir Paul gave her a kiss and a hug, and even signed her forearm.

Gobeil, who is 30, held up a sign during the show asking McCartney to autograph her right arm where she has the words “Let it Be” tattooed.

To her surprise, he invited her onto the stage.

She says McCartney joked that they would have to “spoon” to get the right angle for him to sign her arm.

While it only lasted a few moments, she says he made a lasting impression.

“I can’t even explain it,” she said, laughing. “He seemed like such a genuinely nice person and even just to take time out to do that, I was so grateful.”

Gobeil wasn’t about to take any risks with the coveted signature. Immediately after the show she called up her friend who has a tattoo shop and went about making the autograph permanent.

“He went right down to his shop at 12:30 a.m. and opened up and did my tattoo for me.”

She admits she didn’t get a lot of sleep Wednesday night.

“It feels like if I didn’t have it tattooed on I probably would’ve thought I dreamt it.”
