Labour Day opening at Campbell Mountain landfill

PENTICTON – The Regional District is continuing their program of opening the landfill on statutory holidays this weekend.

The Campbell Mountain landfill will be open regular hours for the entire Labour Day weekend, including Monday’s statutory holiday on Sept. 4, according to a Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen media release.

The holiday opening is a continuation of a trial run to see if residents take advantage of the extra opening in an effort to reduce longer than usual lineups that have traditionally occurred after long weekends.

Future statutory holidays may see the landfill closed once again. Residents should check online or call the regional district for updates.

Both Oliver and Okanagan Falls landfills will be closed Monday, Sept. 4. There are no changes to the hours of the Keremeos transfer station.
