Father charged with murder in shooting death of son on B.C. First Nation

TAKLA LANDING, B.C. – A 66-year-old man from the Takla Landing First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of his son.

The RCMP say the victim was 36-year-old Christopher Seguin of Vanderhoof, B.C., though a news release contains no other details other than to describe the shooting as a “domestic incident.”

The news release says Crown has approved a second-degree murder charge against Jacques Seguin, who is Christopher Seguin’s father.

Seguin is in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance later this week.

Takla Landing is a small community more than 700 kilometres north of Vancouver.
