Prosper Kelowna: Second declared slate in municipal election

KELOWNA – A second slate geared towards younger voters has turned up in Kelowna. The two-candidate team of Prosper Kelowna hopes to revitalize the City’s job market if elected to City Council.

Mike McLoughlin and Sean Upshaw, two former election candidates for the B.C. Conservatives, have geared their seven point slate so the Kelowna public can prosper from the City’s economy.

The seven points include job creation, affordable housing, city department funding, increasing local food production, additional transit options and building city culture. The seventh point of the platform, how to spend the $30 million Fortis B.C. payment to the City in 2018, will be decided by voters.

McLoughlin is the owner and director of Medi-Kel Clinics in Kelowna. Upshaw is a real estate agent in the city. Both are seeking others to join them for the municipal election.
Prosper Kelowna is the second declared slate for the Kelowna Election. The other slate, the three-person Taxpayers First group, is made up of two former City councillors and a local real estate agent.

The election will take place Nov. 15.
