Hometown Hockey makes stop in Kamloops this weekend

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops is the only Southern Interior stop on the Hometown Hockey tour in B.C. this year.

Rogers Hometown Hockey tour is coming to 24 communities across the country including a stop in Kamloops on Sunday, Jan. 14, when the Canucks face off against the Minnesota Wild, according to a media release.

The event was in Williams Lake last weekend on Jan. 7.

Hometown Hockey is a two-day festival which is free of charge and open to fans of all ages. It'll feature live entertainment, local celebrities, NHL alumni and family-friendly activities.

Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be hosting the festival for Sportsnet.

"Rogers Hometown Hockey connects Canadians all across the country,” MacLean says. “Every Sunday, we pull out the hockey roadmap and discover a part of Canada and ourselves."
